KKK Precast produces high quality precast T-walls, concrete T-wall units, concrete security walls, and concrete systems for blast wall barriers for projects that demand self-standing protection, fast installation and reliable onsite handling. These are the heaviest duty units available and are designed for use when standard (road) barriers will not give enough vertical protection and a taller, stronger protective wall line is required for the project.

Precast T-walls are an integral part of our product range along with precast bunkers, concrete barriers, precast shelters and precast manholes. They are not second-hand catalogue products. They are essential precast products for protection wall systems, controlled access zones, force-protection packages, infrastructure projects, and security projects throughout the UAE.

T-WALL HEIGHTS, SIZES AND WEIGHTS

Generally, t-walls are specified on height first as this is used to determine the protection line, unit weight, transportation method and crane capacity requirements for installation. There are three popular configurations that are requested:

A conventional precast T-wall is based on a self-standing configuration. It is inverted T-shaped in base which supports the wall unit, allowing for less continuous foundation construction if approved by the project design.

The unit weight is determined by the height, the dimensions of the walls, the reinforcement, the concrete specification and the project requirements. Units that are shorter in length can begin at around 5800kg, taller or heavier construction units are significantly heavier. Before production, the final unit weight, lifting-anchor arrangement and base size should always be verified with approved project drawings.

C40/50 concrete should be considered as a typical specification and UHPC may be used if specified in the project specification, structural design or by specialist performance criteria.

For a comparison between a T-wall and an enclosed protective unit or a reusable precast panel system, the appropriate one should be selected based on the project layout, level of protection required, installation and engineering specification.

Precast walls and blast walls are not allowed to be used in any way.

The term “precast wall” can refer to several different systems on a UAE construction or infrastructure project. The requirement for a project often can be one of three types: a self-standing T-wall protective line, a continuous boundary wall, or an engineered blast wall system.

Based on project drawings and technical specifications, KKK Precast produces solutions for these various applications.

T-walls are typically used when the need for the project is to have a fast and self-supporting wall line. Perimeter walls are walls that are used for long term boundary and site separation needs. Engineered blast walls are constructed based on project design specifications for structural and security needs for increased protection.

T-WALLS VS JERSEY BARRIERS

The purpose of t-walls and jersey barriers varies from project to project.

Generally, jersey barriers can be used for road diversion, lane separation, work zone protection, temporary traffic management and vehicle guidance. They are designed for applications requiring horizontal road safety and vehicle separation, such as traffic-control applications.

T-walls are suitable where project needs include taller perimeter walls, a high vertical wall line, a need for a separation that requires controlled access, or a wall line that needs to be higher.
